My dad is now accepting of being in care and is extremely well looked after, with all his needs considered; by all the staff. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff team supported my dad in this unexpected (and largely unwanted) phase of his life. Fiercely independent, the team have been able to subtly ensure that Dad engages with them to have his support needs met whilst maintaining and maximising his independence and not diminishing his pride. Staff at The Old Rectory Care have worked hard to make it easier for us as a family, and this was with the backdrop of covid and all the restrictions that they had to work through. We have nothing but praise and respect for the whole of the workforce, which includes the catering team, the housekeeping team, the administration team as well as the direct care staff.

My friend’s husband was at the Rectory Care home for four months having been admitted for palliative care. The staff went beyond their care of duty. The kindness and support my dear friend received as her husband spent his last days there has been something I have never experienced before. The staff and management treated her and her husband as one of their own family. From the Doctor and his team and to everyone at the Rectory, I want to express from myself and my friend our grateful thanks. I will never forget the love and support given to her during this very sad time. Thank you to everyone. It will never be forgotten.

My brother-in-law has been at the Rectory for several years and we are extremely grateful for the care and attention he has received. The home is excellent and the staff are amazing. During lockdown, they had to become family to all the residents and they kept us fully informed as to his progress. We have been allowed to visit but only in a safe way. The food is consistently good and the rooms are of a high standard. This is undoubtedly the best care home in the area, in our opinion and we would recommend it to anyone.

Everything about this home is first-class. The staff are kind and attentive and communication with the family is excellent. The home is beautifully maintained as are the lovely gardens, making a great environment for the residents.

My mother has been a resident since August 2021. Following a stroke and a fall some months later we felt unable to give mum the care she needed. My sister and I looked around a few care homes and decided that The Rectory was the best fit for mum. She has a lovely room with en-suite facilities. There is a two week getting to know one another period for both the resident and staff to see if all is well. Thankfully my mum fitted in very well. Even though she had another fall on the second day the staff were very caring and efficient and after a brief stay in hospital soon returned to the Rectory. During the covid restrictions, the staff went above and beyond in helping me visit mum. I became an essential carer as mum has difficulty speaking after her stroke. The telephone or tablet communication just wouldn’t work for her, although this was offered. Nobody wants to go into a care home but, if I had to, this is the one I would choose!
