Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and proactive Personal Assistant to support a friendly young adult with a severe learning disability, assisting them in accessing the community and developing life skills. The role involves 8 hours per week during school term time, with potential initial training during the summer, and a pay rate of £14.94 per hour gross. Your duties will include providing 1:1 support, helping the individual engage in activities such as visiting local farms, shops, cafes, and leisure centres, supporting communication and emotional well-being, and building confidence and independence. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities or autism, be calm, patient, and enthusiastic, with a person-centred approach, and be able to work independently. A full UK driving licence is required, and enhanced DBS check is essential (or willingness to obtain).
